BRICKLIN

Bricklin was an American car manufacturer active from 1974 to 1976. The company was founded by Malcolm Bricklin, who was also involved in the development of the Yugo, to produce a sporty car with safety features. The car was called the SV-1 (Safety Vehicle One) and was known for its distinctive gull-wing doors. It was powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine and had several safety features such as a reinforced body structure, energy-absorbing bumpers and an adjustable steering column. The car was well received by the public but struggled to sell in large numbers due to various production problems and quality control issues. The company went bankrupt in 1976 after producing approximately 2,850 cars. Today, the Bricklin SV-1 is a collector's item, known for its unique design and safety features.
