The Pontiac GTO was a muscle car produced by Pontiac from 1964 to 1974. During this period, the GTO was offered in a range of trim levels with different color options and upholstery choices. Some models came with exterior stripes and special wheels to further distinguish them from other GTOs.
In terms of power, the GTO was fitted with a range of V8 engines, with the largest displacing 400 cubic inches and delivering as much as 366 horsepower. The engine was mated to a variety of transmission options, including three-speed manual, four-speed manual, and two-speed automatic. The car was capable of strong performance, with some models able to reach 60 mph from a standing start in just under 7 seconds and cover the quarter-mile in the mid-14-second range.
