Alfa Romeo Spider VIN Decoder
Alfa Spider production spans several visual generations while retaining the 105/115 type-code system. PetrolJunky uses the code to separate the core engine/model family before the modern VIN era.
Decode from this page
This page explains Spider, but the input accepts every PetrolJunky-supported identifier.
What this identifier can tell you
The Spider line spans many years but retains recognizable type codes
PetrolJunky supports the 105.03/105.05 1600 Duetto, 1750 Spider Veloce type families, 105.91/105.92 1300 Junior, 115.07 1600 Junior, 105.24/105.27 and 115.02 2000 Spider Veloce, plus selected Series 3 and Series 4 115 codes.
The type identifies the family, not every cosmetic detail
Round-tail, Kamm-tail and later aerodynamic Spiders can share engine/model evolution that is not safely recoverable from a bare serial. PetrolJunky uses the factory type to establish the supported model family while leaving color, trim, exact build date and originality to documentation or registry evidence.
Modern Alfa VINs remain authoritative
If a Spider carries a standard 17-character VIN, the classic type decoder steps aside and the normal modern VIN path is used. This keeps the historical decoder useful without competing with stronger standardized data.
