Toyota Supra & Celica XX Frame Decoder
Toyota documents MA46 for the first Celica XX/Supra generation. PetrolJunky continues the frame-code approach through selected MA61, MA70, JZA70 and JZA80 identifiers while leaving standard 17-character US VINs to NHTSA.

What this identifier can tell you
The Supra story begins with Celica XX frame codes
Toyota documents MA46 for the first-generation 2600 Celica XX, the model sold as Supra in North America. PetrolJunky extends that frame-code approach to selected MA47 and MA61 families and to later MA70, JZA70 and JZA80 frame numbers encountered on Japanese-market or imported cars.
Non-US frame numbers fill a real decoder gap
A later Supra imported from Japan may be identified by a frame code and serial rather than the 17-character VIN a US decoder expects. PetrolJunky can recognize that form while still routing standard Z/US-style 17-character VINs through NHTSA when they are present.
No fake precision from the serial
The frame code establishes generation/model family; exact year is only returned when supported by reviewed data. This keeps a useful import-car result from becoming an unsupported registry fact.
